German Party!

Here's our baby keg from Germany. We also had a lot of pork in the fridge. Time to have a German party! Tim made chicken schnitzel, apple strudel and Carrie brought the German potatoes. We capped it all off with the German music radio station online (hilarious!)

Missing This:

By "this," I mean, music festivals. Namely, bluegrass festivals, but we do punk music fests as well. So we've made our fist solid plans for the summer. In the middle of July, we're going to FINLAND! I know, right? I don't know the first thing about Finland. Do you? We've signed up to camp and enjoy punk and rock music in Finland (??!!??) for three straight days at the award-winning Ruisrock festival. So far, the line-up includes some serious favorites including Flogging Molly and Frank Turner. Tim is especially excited for NOFX and Rise Against. Additional people we would like to see, but wouldn't go to see alone: Regina Spektor, Anti-Flag, Slash and his band, and even Ozzy. Yes. Ozzy. We're going to have fun. And we're wondering if, being almost the artic circle, it will be light at midnight?

Love Mountains.....

HATE backpacking.

The lovely Carrie beat us to the punch, once again. You can see her pictures (which are quite good) and read about our trip here. It was great to meet up once again with climbers we met back in the Ala daglar last fall. Nuri and his wife are so sweet and hospitable. I'm sure they are friends we will be in touch with for the rest of our lives. So spending some quality time with them was fantastic.

We learned a lot this weekend about what to do next season to be successful on Erciyes. That's right--we'll go back. But I refuse to carry such a heavy pack next time.

She Gets Me

No she literally "gets" me. Sometimes I wake up with small scratches on my face. Now I know why. And she does actually sleep between us with her little kitty head on the pillow. Now come on, how cute is that?
